A bankruptcy clinic for veterans of the United States Armed Forces in need of legal advice and representation in bankruptcy matters will be held on September 19, 2017. The clinic is an excellent opportunity to provide much needed pro bono services to those who have served their Country.
We are currently recruiting attorneys to staff the clinic and agree to meet with potential clients, give advice and to potentially take a consumer case. If you cannot agree to take a case, we would still like you to volunteer to meet with potential clients and give advice.
Additionally, St. Mary’s University School of Law students volunteering with the Bankruptcy Pro Bono Project will be available to be paired with volunteer attorneys to work individual Chapter 7 cases. Training for staffing the clinic and handling Chapter 7 or 13 cases will be held: Monday, August 7, 2017 11 AM, in Courtroom 3 on 5th Floor of the Hipolito F. Garcia Federal Building & Courthouse, 615 E. Houston St. Sandwiches will be provided, so let us know if you will be attending.
Please contact Beth Smith at 210-731-9177 or beth@egsmithlaw.com for more information or to sign up to serve.
