The SABBA CLE for August will be Erica Giese and Jay Dewald from Jackson Walker presenting The Intersection of Civil and Criminal Law – An overview of how, when, and where civil law may implicate criminal law and legal concepts traditionally within the realm of criminal law and practice.
This is a great presentation that our bar will find very useful as there are (unfortunately) situations where the debtors we deal with are facing criminal charges arising out of the pre-bankruptcy past or sometimes even related to their conduct in bankruptcy.

San Antonio Bankruptcy Bar Association laments the passing of John L Sanders, Attorney, on July 12, 2019.
Mr. Randy Osherow has informed us that John’s memorial will be This Sunday, July 28, 1:30 pm. 12809 Moose Circle, 78254. It is north of 1604 near Culebra. All are welcome. (RO could not find it on mapquest. It is new development, 2019. Granddaughter’ house. )

Mr. Sanders practiced bankruptcy and worked on Creditor – Debtor issues, as well as Wills and Probate. He was admitted to practice in the US Tax Court , Texas Western Bankruptcy Court , and Texas Western District Court .

Volunteer Opportunity: The St. Mary’s Law School Pro Bono Project has an immediate need for volunteer attorneys to assist with indigent individuals who are in need of advice and possible assistance with filing a chapter 7 case. We currently have 3 individuals who have been waiting since March to speak to someone. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Alicia Grant at alicia.grant@nortonrosefulbright.com. All volunteers are paired with a St. Mary’s law student who has been trained and can assist with all intake.
